Lisa Stannard is a passionate and accomplished multi-skilled Freelance designer who upon graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Textile Design at Manchester School of Art has gone on to build a freelance design career spanning 14 years of Print Design, Fashion and Textiles, Illustration and Branding...
Hailing from the North West, Lisa trained at the Manchester School of Art, graduating with a first class honours in textile design in 2009. Lisa’s degree show designs led to a finalist position in the prestigious Texprint annual awards, and were later rewarded with the New Look fashion prize.
In the years that followed, Lisa worked with many iconic brands and companies all over the world including Nike training club, Victoria’s Secret, Folli Follie, New Look, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, ASOS, Nasty Gal, Ralph Lauren, Clogau, Lucy in Disguise, Oasis, Diono, and was heavily involved in assisting Whitney Port of The Hills in the creation and conception of her first fashion label Whitney Eve.
Lisa’s fashion and fitness ilustrations have been published in Gaiam Yoga, Women’s Health, Women’s Digest, Oasis, Nylon, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols stores.
Having set up a professional studio in Manchester, in 2014 Lisa launched her own solo collection of swimwear, active wear and silk printed dresses which was picked up by several British high street brands. The following year, she relocated to Berlin in 2015 to work for Adidas Knit for You and at Soho House.
For all of her creative accomplishments, behind the scenes a life longlove of fitness and later, yoga practice, began to extend into her professional pursuits. Working with sportswear and swimwear brands led me to a deeper understanding of movement in fabrics and complex designs required for different activities. Between freelance work projects, Lisa started to take more courses in yoga, meditation, personal training and started to teach alongside being busy with design commissions.
The crossover between personal and professional struck a perfect balance, and now back in the UK, and with more than 12 years of experience working from a home studio, Lisa continues to teach yoga, movement and meditation in between creative projects, and has found a way to combine all of her passions together to make a career that fits in with family life.
Lisa is currently working on new commissions and collaborations, further coaching and well-being events, launching her own online print shop and digitally printed silk scarf collection, while teaching her daughter to paint, draw and create in between.
